David And Janet Webb Peoples Writing The Prisoner

Sky One are remaking The Prisoner, apparently, with Christopher Eccleston in the lead role. Number 6, The Doctor... who's next? Simon Templar? John Steed? Adam Adamant?

Apparently, however, there's now a new script for the long-touted feature film version too. This time round it has been written by David and Janet Webb Peoples, who wrote Twelve Monkeys.

David also wrote a fair bit of Bladerunner and the brilliant script for Unforgiven. Sadly, like Unforgiven, this script could end up in the hands of the wrong director.

Not Eastwood, this time, but Christopher Nolan. Various sites - like Empire, for example - are suggesting this could be Nolan's follow up to The Dark Knight.

Somebody better get Terry Gilliam's agent on the phone before we have a repeat of the whole His Dark Materials debacle.

No, Mr./Mrs. Jiffy, Jiffster, Jiffmeister, I am not a fan of Mr. Nolan's work.

It's a big subject and, well, I'll be getting to it soon. I promised to tell somebody why I didn't like Scorsese a short while ago and, well, the answers are more or less the same.

So, watch this space.
