A Fairy Tale

There's a very brief clip online that is alleged to be an excerpt from M. Night Shyamalan's The Lady in the Water.

The aspect ratio doesn't necessarily seem right to me, but other than that, I suppose there's no reason to question that this clip does indeed come from the movie - I suppose that it could be cropped, or unmatted. Oh - and there's the niggling doubt instilled by the site hosting the clip: it's something to do with commercials, isn't it? So are we looking at a little piece of an ad here, nothing to do with Night at all? Hard to definitively say.

Of course, there's no reason to believe that it actually does come from the film either - other than that various voices around the internet are claiming so. We might be getting told a fairy tale here.

The Lady in the Water - Night's "Bedtime Story", starring Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard, opens this summer and already his detractors have their whetstones a-whooshing. For my part, I expect it to be rather good.

And if this clip does turn up in the finished film, remember where you saw it first.
