The Simpson Animated Movie - Just Not As Interesting As The Simpsons: Live Action?

Teaser trailers for a Simpsons movie (to be released July 27th next year) have been playing before Ice Age 2. Marketing ploy, of course.

Early reports of the trailers were widely disbelieved, almost as though a Simpsons film were too good to be true. Well, that's not the case, sadly - it's not 1998 anymore. As solid as the show usually is, there's nothing unbelievable about it.

Just a few weeks back, we got a glimpse at a live-action Simpsons universe and it reawakened, for a short while at least, my excitement for all things Springfield. Sadly, that has already dimmed. Futurama is closer to my heart these days. If only we could get some reliable news about that.

The teasers will appear again inbetween the chunks of Sunday night's Simpsons screening on Fox, and watching them there won't cost you - or artificially boost the Ice Age 2 box office. If that's still not good enough, they're bound to turn up within days also.
