Hot Picks From The Venice Line-Up

There's some very tantalising names scattered up and down the full Venice Film Festival Line-up.

Hopefully, this little lot are triple-A stuff:

Aranofsky's The Fountain. Aoyama's Koorogi. De Palma's The Black Dahlia. Cuaron's Children of Men. Kon's Paprika. Labute's The Wicker Man. Leaf and Scheinfeld's The US vs John Lennon. Miyazaki Junior's Tales From Earthsea. Frears' The Queen.

As far as I can tell, these are the interesting failures:

McGrath's Infamous. Chan's Rob-B-Hood. Frankel's Devil Wears Prada. Branagh's The Magic Flute. Coulter's Hollywoodland. Verhoeven's Black Book. De Oliveira's Belle Toujours.

And the big bomb? The crushing disappointment?

Lynch's Inland Empire.
