Kidman Back For Dogville And Manderlay Sequel? And What About Howard?

Is it true that both Nicole Kidman and Bryce Dallas Howard are to appear in Washington, Lars von Trier's third and final film in the "USA" trilogy (see Dogville and Manderlay to date)?

Apparently so - or at least, it's his intention, with negotiations underway. Allegedly, they are to play Grace and her "evil sister" - though Lars hasn't yet decided which of the actresses will play the twisted one, and which will play the good girl. I wouldn't be surprised to see him mix things up a little, however, having the roles reversed in different chapters.

The earlier rumours of Lauren Bacall taking the role of Grace, and of the film being set in the 70s, suddenly seem to have little substance.

The conclusion of the trilogy was delayed while von Trier made The Boss of it All, or My Man The Manager or The President is God or whatver it ends up being called (now complete) and rewrote the Washington script (currently underway).

Shouldn't be too long until Jean Marc Barr, Udo Kier, Chloe Sevigny and Stellan Skarsgard hear their cellphones chirruping, I should expect. Hurrah for the rest of us.
