Invasion Of The Not Quite Dead

According to their website, and the imdb listing, The Indywood Project have Ken Russell attached to their upcoming 'zombie comedy horror' film, Invasion of the Not Quite Dead. Sadly, Uncle Ken isn't slated to direct but just 'act' in the film, and there'e every chance his uncomfirmed appearance will be a minor one if it happens at all.

Of course, Invasion of the Not Quite Dead is nothing new for Ken - he's just spent a few days in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The Indywood Project are selling off advertising squares on a website in order to raise their 120k budget. There's no indication that the film will be able to attain distribution or make even a penny back - but every indication it won't be any good.

Ken's acting can be pretty hit-and-miss, but I liked his turn in the otherwise risable THE RUSSIA HOUSE, a staple of bad late night mid-week TV.

If only I thought for one minute that he was being cast for his acting ability...

hey bud, I just wanted to thankyou for giving the project a mention even if it was a negative one, hahaha, its all cool, Ken is attached as executive producer, we know that Lions Gate are interested, so the goal is of course a theatrical release, Ken will be taking a small role, cant have him running around killing zombies, so his part is a small one, but guarenteed to be a show stealer... We have hollywood special fx wizard Rich Knight attached, his credits include Robert Zemeckis' "Beowulf", "Poseidon", "X-Men 3", "X-Files", so the fx and make up is going to look amazing, the story is quirky with a real horror atmosphere, and so i dont quite know why that is an indication to you that it wont make any money, nor will it be any good, hahaha, is it just the name that has made you sceptical... I think more than anything, we deserve some respect for trying to do something a bit different here in the UK, using a website to raise our movies budget 100% independently, cutting out any studio interference and giving us total control over our movie, and then keeping UK distribution rights is something unheard of here in the UK, so if nothing else we are at least getting off our arse and doing something possitive, unlike a lot of filmmakers who just give up on their dreams because they cant get any funding... but either way, possitive or negative comments, the project is getting talked about, and i cant ask for more than that... so thanx for your message... take it easy Brendon...

Hi, Antony

It was more a case of there NOT being anything to suggest that it WOULD make it's money back.

It's a tough one that you're trying to crack here. Comedy zombie films are pretty much 'done' in many regards.

Best of luck though...
