This is the latest project from The Hero Initiative, which is (apparently) some kind of privately created, not-for-profit replacement for welfare state coverage for elderly comic book creators. I read that disbursements are decided upon by Dick Giordano, Charlie Novinskie, Dennis O'Neil, George Pérez, John Romita Sr., Roy Thomas and Jim Valentino. Cinema needs a similar thing, I think - just as long as they don't ask Spielberg, Scorsese, Stone to control the purse strings.
