The Maltese Falcon Part 2

San Francisco police are investigating after the Maltese Falcon disappeared from John's Grill. Both Hammet and Sam Spade were regulars at the Grill, in two slightly different universes. Not only has the famous bird flown the coop, several reports have it that thieves also made away with a copy of the original novel, signed by Hammet. Down to just eggs and muffins and fresh out of McGuffins, John's Grill is offering a $25,000 reward.

Apparently, the Falcon itself is just a replica. If you've seen the film, you probably guessed that already.

If this episode has anything remotely like a thrilling conclusion - and maybe even if it doesn't, and maybe even if it all turns out to be nothing more than a publicity stunt - I can see some Charlie Kauffman wannabe trolling it into script form. You heard it here first: The Maltese Falcon Part 2.
