The Future Is Superbad

There's any number of upcoming films that film ick is looking forward to with quite an embarrassing degree of excitement. Remember that I'm in the UK, so a number of these have been released in other territories. Doesn't stop me getting giddy, though.

Here's the list, in no particular order:

Hatchet, I'm Not There, The Nanny Diaries, Eastern Promises, Rescue Dawn, The Brave One, Across the Universe, Sweeney Todd, Be Kind, Rewind, Sleuth, Rendition, Dan in Real Life, The Caiman, Death Defying Acts, A Dog's Breakfast, American Gangster, Lions for Lambs, Coraline, Fay Grim, Red, No Country for Old Men, Wayward Cloud, Beowulf, The Oxford Murders, Redacted, Honeydripper, The Mist, Leatherheads, Juno, Walk Hard, P.S., I Love You, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Bucket List, Valkyrie, Charlie Wilson's War, Persepolis, Inkheart, The Love Guru, Wall-E, Death Proof, War Inc., Sunshine Cleaning, Planet Terror, The Lovely Bones, The Brothers Bloom, Trick'r Treat, Once, The Lookout, The Nines, The Happening, Hellboy 2, CJ7, Chaotic Ana, Diary of the Dead.

And, to a lesser degree perhaps, I'm certainly harbouring hopes for this little lot:

Shoot 'Em Up, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, Stardust, The Jane Austen Book Club, Feast of Love, Grace is Gone, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Michael Clayton, Lars and the Real Girl, Mr. Woodcock, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Martian Child, I Could Never Be Your Woman, Love in the Time of Cholera, Margot at the Wedding, Enchanted, I Am Legend, Cassandra's Dream, Flakes, The Savages, The Orphanage, The Other Boleyn Girl, Drillbit Taylor, Wanted, NowhereLand, Stop Loss, Iron Man, Bolt, Made of Honor, Watchmen, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Incredible Hulk, Disturbia, Yella, As You Like It, The Magic Flute, Sicko, My Blueberry Nights, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, Bunker Hill, The Mother of Tears, It's a Free World, Virgin Territory, Spiral.

And films I've already seen but are not yet on general release here in the UK, so worth looking forward to all over again:

Ratatouille, I'm a Cyborg, but That's Okay, Superbad and, of course, Son of Rambow. And I'm sure that I'll still be looking forward to seeing Son of Rambow again after I've seen it three or four more times.

Sorry that this was a largely English-language list, but the IMDB was my primary mnemonic. Tell me... what have I forgotten?

[EDITS: Thanks to those commenting below, here are a number of films I should have added to the "really exciting list": You, the Living, I Don't Want to Sleep Alone, Nightwatching, Synecdoche New York, Where the Wild Things Are, A Killing on Carnival Row, Adoration, Ponyo on a Cliff, Splice, The Wolf Man, We Need to Talk About Kevin, La Piel Que Habito, Guerilla, The Argentine, The Informant., King of Kong (both versions) and The Only Living Boy in New York.

And how about the "quite exciting" list? Well, we could add: Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass, Puffball, Dante 01, Encounters at the End of the World, Lake of Fire, The Paperboy,
J'Accuse.

And more for any more? Keep 'em coming]

[EDIT: Four more very, very notable additions in Blade Runner: The Final Cut, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Death & Me and We3]

Conspicuously absent to my eyes are The Man from London, You, the Living, I Don't Want to Sleep Alone (strange you mentioned The Wayward Cloud and not this, seeing as they're out on the same day - and I'm also looking forward to his next, Face), Nightwatching (and J'accuse), Youth Without Youth, Breath, White Material, Flight of the Red Balloon, King Shot, Synecdoche, New York, Certified Copy, Glory to the Filmmaker!, Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass, Funny Games, The White Ribbon, Enter the Void, There Will Be Blood, The Good Heart, Puffball, A Killing on Carnival Row, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Banishment, Mister Lonely, Paranoid Park, The Skin I Live In, Dante 01, The Darjeeling Limited, Adoration, Go Go Tales, Lake of Fire, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Where the Wild Things Are, Encounters at the End of the World, Gloss, Lust, Caution, Ponyo on a Cliff, Splice, Evil Live, Pompeii, Silent Light, Don't Touch the Axe, The Wolf Man, Love and Virtue, Alexandra, Life During Wartime, Surviving Life (Theory and Practice), I Come with the Rain, The International, The Paperboy, A Man Comes Home, Antichrist, The Palermo Story, The Age of Ignorance, Christopher Columbus, the Enigma, The Countess, Night and Day, 24 City (and Useless), Fallen (if it's ever released), We Need to Talk About Kevin, Ploy, The Romance of Astrea and Celadon, The Go Master, Syndromes and a Century, and although I'm fairly certain it's going to be awful, I'm curious about Southland Tales.

Don't get excited for The Nanny Diaries. It doesn't have a pulse, flatline boredom straight through. This is also coming from someone that looked forward to it.
