- Aint it Cool have a rather early test screening report for Journey 3D, the first live action film shot explicitly for the new 3D projection processes. As such, it's a benchmark film either way - but the report isn't very positive in most respects at all.
- It looks like Zac Efron is considering a role Orson Welles and Me. Incidentally, the premiere of High School Musical 2 was the most watched broadcast in basic-cable history.
- HR Giger meets Jan Svankmajer in Salad, a CG version of the Alien alien as though made out of vegetables. The link was up at Boing Boing.
- Is JK Rowling's next a detective thriller set in Edinburgh? Maybe.

- NPR have a nice piece about Kenneth Branagh's As You Like It.
- JoBlo are also backing the Rose McGowan as Barbarella punt I took a months or so back. To an extent, anyway.
- Larry Charles' Religulous, as it's now being called, is likely due for a release at Easter time next year.
- David Arquette is being sued for copyright infringement. According to Fritz Junker, The Tripper rips off The Truth About Beef Jerky. Blimey. One film like that seemed unlikely enough.
Moving into detective fiction is an entirely natural progression for Rowling. The HP books have, behind the mythological drapings, always been structured like old fashioned crime fiction: whodunnits, red herrings, etc.
