Tell Me What I've Missed
Assume that I've been on Mars for the last fourteen days. What's gone on in Filmland? Please do stop by the comments and tell me what you know, what interests you in particular, what you think I may be most intrigued by.

Brad Lewis(producer of The Incredibles and Ratatouille) is going to direct his own film at Pixar. Collider.com confirms this thanks to their interviews with John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Brad Lewis himself and many more because of the upcoming release of the Ratatouille DVD. Found the link at upcomingpixar Brendon. Have fun because theirs also some talk about 1906 and Wall-E albeit slim.
X-Files 2 starts lensing Dec. 10th. "Spaced" to be remade for American television by producer McG and writer Adam Barr ("Will & Grace") for 20th Century Fox (and Edgar notes on his MySpace that nobody has so much has even given him a phone call on the matter). Meanwhile "Scrubs" is to be replaced by more "Office", as in a spin-off where the main characters (an "established star") will be introduced mid-season and then spun off next season. Craig signs for four more Bond films. Crank 2 shooting back to back with Neveldine/Taylor's other film, Game. Crank 2 is also apparently about Chev chasing down a Chinese mobster who has taken his nearly-indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery powered pacemaker that requires constant jolts of electricity to stay alive. G.I. Joe officially greenlit. 1-18-08's trailer (and official title) loom on the horizon. James Vanderbilt working on Spidey 4 script. First Ratner, and now Gerard Butler are off the Escape From New York remake. WB hires live-action Akira director Ruairi Robinson based on his Oscar-nommed short "Fifty Percent Grey" (which can be found on The Animation Show, Vol. 1). The next Resident Evil movie will be all-CG. David Dobkin directs "The Flash" (spun off from Miller's JLA film directly), while Greg Berlanti directs Green Lantern.
Spidey 4's got a screenwriter...the guy who wrote Zodiac...dunno if that's old news.

I love CRANK like Brendon loves HOSTEL, so I'm happy all round.
Personally, I'd like to know more about the MAD MAD 4 production supposedly re-awakening. My one contact on that seems fairly unsure whether that's true or not himself.
Ryan Gosling is off "The Lovely Bones", and was replaced by Mark Wahlberg.
Saw IV came out, they've finished filming Saw V and have just finished writing Saw VI. Actually since starting this comment I hear they've actually finished filming Saw VI and are half-way through writing Saw VII.

And in keeping with the Saw films, I posted 2 exactly the same comments in quick succession hoping you'd read them both - ooops!
Here's what caught my eye this morning, Brendon:
Whedon and Dushku together again on TV soon
NBC cancels "Heroes: Origins"
Official word on Gilliam's "Parnassus"
Date set for new X-Files flick
Meryl Streep to play Julia Child
Tony Gilroy's next flick to star Julia Roberts and Clive Owen
Broken Lizard crew to make "Slammin' Salmon"
Andy Lau gets big budget for new flick
Jarmusch to make flick starring the great Isaach de Bankole
Now, my computer is not cooperating this morning, so I don't know when or if I'll be able to write all that up, but I thought you might enjoy the head's up. Have a great day
