Housesitting

Season 3 of House comes to a close here in the UK this Thursday, with a double bill of the last two episodes. It's going to be a long wait until the next wave makes it across the Atlantic - the next season isn't expected to begin here until April 2008.

Perhaps Lifetime can ease the withdrawl symptoms just a little with their... er... latest Princess Diana 'movie event'? Bear with me.

Due to premiere this Saturday in the US, The Death of Princess Diana features House's Dr. Cameron, Jennifer Morrison, in the role of a journalist who wintesses the crash that killed Diana but, while investigating, finds out that there's more to the incident than meets the eye.

Cheap conspiracy thrills? Maybe. I doubt it gets brilliantly deranged with shape-shifting lizard royals and Nazi cloning experiments, but I might be wrong. A short glimpse on DailyMotion will give you some idea of what's in store.

House's Princess Of Hearts

Jennifer Morrison, House's Dr. Cameron, is currently filming in Luxembourg for Working Title TV's Princess Di 'post-biopic'. Apparently The Murder of Princess Diana is top premiere on the Lifetime channel this August.

Of course, you know which role Morrison has, right? That's it: she's playing an American journalist investigating the accident, trying to decipher the mysterious goings on behind the officially sanctioned version of events. Apparently, the character gets to witness the fatal collision, so I presume some kind of reenactment will be 'necessary'. Step-printed, stroboscopic, highly saturated or stylised however, any sequence like that is bound to draw the same kind of fire as... oh, I dunno... an Eli Roth film, maybe.

So, what's going to prove to be the blip on Morrison's CV? The best American mystery show to not be cancelled this year... or the Diana exploitation cheapie?
