Movie Minewsweeper - The Let's Try That Again, Shall We? Edition

- Darren Aronofsky is to record a commentary track for The Fountain and release it online. I saw this at Cinematical.

- Frank Miller still believes in a Sin City 2. I wonder if he also believes in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction. On the upside, he's now sold on 3D - after a screening of U2 3D. Does this mean The Spirit might get an extra dimension?

- Today's completely fabricated quote alleges that Tim Burton is set to direct a film about Marilyn Manson's recent divorce. At least we can cross another site off of the legitimate source list - and the first time I've ever heard of the site too. That's efficiency for you.

- Aardman are to launch their own channel on Joost. Fine - but I don't have an invite to use the service. Who's going to ask me in?

- K-Fed has landed a small role in Night Watch. How?

- Scott Sigler's Infested is to be filmed. Know the book? I don't. Any good?

- You can download the trailer to Wilson Yip's Flashpoint right now, if your right-clicker works.

- A Mister Lonely clip has turned up online. If Harmony Korine has any idea what he's doing he certainly hasn't worked out why he shouldn't be doing it.

- Luc Besson is to float EuropaCorp on the paris stock exchange. This was one of the stories I lost in the earlier Blogger meltdown.

- I still haven't stopped laughing about the Silver Surfer coin cock-up.

James Cameron's Heart Shaped Glasses?

A 34-second preview of what may be the latest directorial project from James Cameron is online now. It's full of gore, goth make-up and snog action - it just so happens to be a clip from Marilyn Manson's Heart Shaped Glasses video. If I'm not very much mistaken, the lyrics are referring to one Rose McGowan.

Apparently this clip, and indeed the whole video, are just part of a bigger project, a long form clip of some kind, that Manson and Cameron are reportedly making together. Better still, the project is apparently being shot in 3D and will premiere some of the technology developed for Avatar.

As yet, however, none of this is official. Can you see the hand of Cameron in this brief clip? I certainly couldn't - though it gave me almost nothing to go on and I really can't rule out his involvement either.

King Kong Sized Human Skeletons, Marilyn Manson As A 300 Year Old Pope And The Charity Of Nick Nolte

If you think about it, the above title can only mean one thing: Alejandro Jodorowsky's back. Worst Previews today have a few bits and bobs on his in-development movie, King Shot.

From what I've heard, the plot appears to revolve around the casino to end all casinos, secreted away in the middle of a vast desert that is dotted with surreal mirages. A very odd group of gamblers convene here and somehow, for some reason, find the skeleton of a giant man - "King Kong sized" - buried in the sand. According to the new piece, Marilyn Manson is onboard as a 300 year old Pope.
