An Unstable Fable

Variety tell me that Eric Robinson has been promoted down Weinstein way, to become their VP of Production and Development.

As well as the big-screen remixes of Knight Rider and The Equalizer (zzzzzzzz), he's also been freshly charged with handling all animated projects at the studio.

For TV and DVD, there's Unstable Fables, co-produced with The Jim Henson Co., Flame Ventures and Prana Studios and co-written by Shrek's Roger Schulman; and for the cinemas, there's the feature-length toons Igor (full length sibling to Unholy Frijoles) and Escape From Planet Earth, which is being dragged out to full length from a pitch by the writers of Hoodwinked. This one tells about a "prison break" by the Aliens in Area 51.

Oh - and, of course, there's the inevitable sequel to the aforementioned Hoodwinked, which they're calling Hood vs Evil. From the plot details released so far, this one sounds as though it has a bit of the Kill Bill about it - but I dare say it'll still be ugly and badly animated.

Say what you want about Cars, when it comes to CG, then it looks to me like Pixar are still the only studio even trying.
