Aardman Rescued From Dreamworks

Aardman's salvation, their lucky escape from Katzenberg and his Dreamwork sausage machine, seems to be just around the corner. With just two films of their five film deal completed, it seems that Dreamworks may be about to call it quits. Lucky Aardman.

Ironically, this happy ending comes courtesy of 'lower' US box office figures. Free of the pressure to pull in $200 million plus, perhaps Aardman will be allowed full creative freedom from here on out. Hopefully that means Richard Golezowski's The Tortoise and the Hare will get resurrected, having already been axed by the Dreamwork overlords for being too difficult, too odd, not straightforward enough.
