Sherman's 39 Heads Jinga Roster

London based independent horror/fantasy sales agency Jinga has unveiled something unusual and exciting in their roster of upcoming releases – a shot-on-DV slasher film by the name of 39.

While at first glance this may appear to be an unremarkable addition to this genre so beloved of low budget filmmakers, closer inspection reveals some genuine horror pedigree: Gary Sherman. Marking the filmmaker’s return to directing for the first time since his late 90s TV work, one suspects that the hand that created such greats as Poltergeist 3, Dead and Buried and (my personal favourite) Death Line will give the genre the necessary twists and turns needed to save it from unintentional self-parody. And it’s reassuring to know that the film is in the hands of a company that seems to care about getting it out there.

One to watch out for at upcoming horror festivals.
