According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lead role in Mamma Mia! has gone to Meryl Streep. I didn't expect this to be such a high profile affair, I have to admit. I'm now assuming the transformation from theatrical book to scrrenplay has been a rigorous one, and improved matters somewhat.
