Aronofsky's Attanasio Factor

Darren Aronofsky is holding back on signing to direct The Fighter while Paul Attanasio rewrites the script. I'd be surprised if, on seeing the finished article, he decides not to proceed.

This film will be something of a departure for Aronofsky - not being self initiated, for one thing; being quite a traditional narrative (they say) for another. It's also likely to have the best script of any of his projects so far. I hope he can step up and give it what it deserves.

I wish more Attanasio scripts made it to the big screen; I'd even settle for the small screen - his work on House was exemplary.
