Missing Link: From Mark I To Mark III - The Iron Man Suit Leaps Ahead

Entertainment Weekly have today revealed the first image of the Iron Man suit and have identified it as the mk. 3 build - you can see it above. A couple of weeks back, mk. 1 was showcased, which you can see below. This begs the question - what will mk. 2 look like?

Any guesses? Or is anybody proficient enough with photoshop to pull off a mash-up?

maybe the MK II is silver and red instead of gold, as ironman did have that colour scheme for a while, and would be a good middle ground from the bulky grey MK I.

These are great: workable, expressive, while reverent and authentic enough to please the hardcore.

Is it just me or is the first suit way too bulky and heavy (like 500 fucking pounds heavy) to be practical? I get that it's the first one, but really, what the hell can you fight or run from in that thing? It's like that Grizzly-proof suit documentary.

heh, the MK I armor kinda looks like the Iron Giant:

or more so like Big Guy, from "Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot":

...or maybe it's the other way around.

Iron Man's had more armour (armor, whatever) than we've had hot dinners, as this Wikipedia entry proves...

However I'd suggest there might not even be a Mark II in the movie. If there was ever a Mark II in the comics, you could argue it was either the gold version of the original Mark I, or the first version of the 'red and gold' which would sort of look like the one above... except with pointy bits above his 'face'.

The Mark III look here is very encouraging... very close to the current Iron Man look without looking too Hollywood-ised. Arguably this'll be one of the most faithful costume conversions for a superhero flick yet.
