An Honest Indiana Jones Mistake?

Is there an honest mistake on the Indiana Jones IV teaser poster? Or should we take it at face value as a sneaky, perhaps confusing, clue that was meant to undermine some recent rumours?

Compare the following screen-cap from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the poster itself - clicking on either to enlarge it.

So. What do you think?

That's gotta be the ark.

I think the upgraded role given to John Hurt as Aber Ravenwood, coupled with the fact that the serial number on the box matches that of the original screencap points to the fact that the teaser poster has been "dumbed down" to ensure that people get that it's an Indiana Jones poster.....everyone my ages remembers the final shot of the film with the warehouse, but the yoof of today may not. My assumption there, of course (not being as firmly embedded in the rumour mill as others), is that the plot of the film is in fact still centered around the Ark of the Covenant. That's the last I'd heard anyway!

My point was, however, that the number ISN'T the same.

It's just NEARLY the same.

It's an angle I thought would be worth exploring: what else do they have in that warehouse? And if you were Indy, would you trust the U.S. govt. of 1957 (vice president - Tricky Dicky) with all that power?

That said, I'm probably imagining a better film than the one Spielberg and Lucas are cooking up.

well the number is similar so it must be in the same area as the ark. if that storage place is anything like ikea then its gotta be some other sort of ark. probably noahs. probably flat pack.

Well it looks like an honest mistake. I remember all the goofs surrounding the Star Wars posters. Like Empires original poster got Luke and Vader's lightsaber color reversed. Everybody jumped on it and thought it was significant and it ended up just being a stupid mistake. So everyone just breathe. It would be cool if it were around the Ark and I'm sure it is but this is just a goof.
