- Brain, a Superman Returns fan, bumped into Mike Dougherty, took a snap and had a chat. Dougherty confirmed that there would be two villainous roles written into the sequel - one of which we already know is Lex Luthor. Sadly, Brain felt he had to remove his report due to negative responses, but the info still exists in replies made to his original comment. I saw this link at Superhero Hype.

- Moviehole have posted casting breakdowns for the looky-likeys required for Watchmen.

- Andy Millonakis is so obsessed with Judd Apatow that I almost called the cops myself.

- Tony Mitchell's Flood is to get a UK release from Lionsgate. It stars Robert Carlyle, Jessalyn Gilsig and David Suchet.

- Cartoon Brew have showcased a Russian animated version of Horton Hears a Who.

- Chris Sanders' official site has launched. Disney's loss will by Sony and Aardman's gain. This was also found at Cartoon Brew.

- Frank Darabont may have cast Tom Hanks as Guy Montag in Fahrenheit 451.

- Steve Zahn is to star in Management, a romantic comedy from Stephen Belber. His co-star is Jennifer Aniston who has a pretty good rom-com pedigree: Office Space is well worth your time, Rumour Has It is desperately undervalued and The Break-Up was one of the best films of 2006.

- The Happening's cast has rounded out nicely. Betty Buckely, Robert Bailey Jr., Jeremy Strong, Frank Collison and Victoria Clark are the latest additions.

- The World of Warcraft movie is a go and the fussmongers are using 300 as a comparison to hype people with.

- According to Abbie Cornish's agent, the young homebre... er, actress (only joking, really) has not been cast in the next Bond film.

- Katherine Heigl is to produce and star in an action-comedy. Seems to be everybody who comes within fifty feet of Judd Apatow ends up producing a film that they will also star in.

- Sam Raimi is being linked to the Clash of the Titans remake, as lately rewritten by Lawrence Kasdan (there's a script review at IESB too). The truth of the matter is probably only that Raimi was approached - and, frankly, he's getting offered just about everything.

- Nick Love is apparently already shooting a film version of The Sweeney with Ray Winstone (presumably as a John Thaw replacement). Nick Love. Tsk. I'd like to know who will write the theme tune, sing the theme tune.

- As well as all of the obvious toy tie-ins, there's a Magic 8-Ball movie on the cards.

- Dito Montiel and Channign Tatum are reteaming for a drama about street fighting. Hmmm.

- James Gunn has revealed details of his upcoming The Belcoo Experiment: It's an ultra-violent thriller with a lot of action. It has to do with a group of 83 American expatriates who work in a building in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the beginning of what is at first a regular, boring day, walls close up around the building, trapping them inside. A voice emits over the speaker system, forcing them through a series of murderous moral decisions.

- James Nesbitt the next Dr. Who? Steven Moffat taking over the show's reins? Well, it looks like "Nesbitt, No" but "Moffat, Yes".

- Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over has been rejigged to avoid offense to Iranians, with a controversial 'mercy killing' removed from the script. if only it could be rejigged to avoid offesne to me. There's very few films I find as downright irritating as those of Wayne Kramer.

- Brett Ratner. Jeez.

- Cinema Blend appear to be confusing Bruce Campbell for Scott Spiegel. Either that or just pretending that they are to bolster a thin tissue of lies. You decide.

- Some animated Batman shorts are likely headed to DVD, to cash-in on the release of The Dark Knight next summer. These tie-ins can yield results, however - Neil Gaiman's Matrix short story is easily the best thing to do with the Matrix in any way, in any medium.
