Movie Minesweeper - The Basketball Friary Edition

There's not much going on - it is Monday morning after all - but I don't want another long day with barely any updates. Doesn't seem like best practice. So here's a little bit of Minesweeping for you.

- A 3-disc edition of Hot Fuzz is coming already - at least in the US. Two new extras - an extended version of the Fuzzball Rally promo-tour documentary, and a fifth commentary track by 'Edgar Wright and a mystery guest'. I'm betting it's Harry Knowles. No... Robert Rodriguez. No... Quentin Tarantino. No... I'm sticking with Rodriguez. I think. No... it's going to be Shane Black. Or Michael Bay.

- AintItCool have fleshed out the 'raptor rumours' around 1-18-08 by explaining where this business about 'the parasite' came from in the first place. A new teaser is to reveal a bit more, if not exactly all.

- A series of Indiana Jones IV set snaps have rolled up online, revealing just a little look at a few props, bits of set dressing and massive arrays of lighting. I saw the link at SlashFilm.

- Another Night at the Museum, Fantastic Voyage and a live-action Dragonball Z movie are all set to film in Montreal this winter.

- Mos Def is performing some Fats Waller songs for the Be Kind, Rewind soundtrack, as rearranged by Jean-Michel Bertrand.

- JLA may well be casting. I saw the link at SuperheroHype.

- As expected, Helena Bonham Carter will be reprising the role of Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter 6.

- Newsweek have commented on how Owen Wilson's private life is to effect the press for The Darjeeling Limited - their piece included, obviously.

- The third reel of There Will Be Blood has played and it came across not as a coherent reel, apparently, but some kind of demonstration selection, a 'product reel'. The film will apparently run 160 minutes.

- Shane Meadows is making a short film called Somers Town to hawk Eurostar. Following that, he's on to King of the Gypsies with Paddy Considine co-scripting and in the title role.

- Brian Dennehy, John Leguizamo, Dan Futterman, Trilby Glover and Rob Dyrdek are all joining Al Pacino and Robert de Niro in Righteous Kill.
