After a quick Ray Bans ad, you can see the first trailer for My Blueberry Nights online now. I wasn't expecting Jude Law's accent, I can tell you that.

A very beautifully photgraphed film and no mistake. It premieres tonight, when I'll finally find out (second hand, of course) if the various women in the billing do turn out to be playing variations on the same character, somehow.

I'm not 'entirely sure' the poster isn't a fake, mind you - indeed, I'm more inclined to consider it fake than genuine. Come to think of it, I'm sure it's a fake. What do you think? Maybe I should take back my kind words about the site, the bunch of filthy fakers?

Professor Scorsese

At the Cannes film festival this year, the latest in their venerable series of Cinema Lessons is to be given by... Martin Scorsese.

Previous lecturers have included Stephen Frears, Wong Kar Wai, Sydney Pollack and Nanni Moretti.

I'll let the facts speak for themselves.

Wong On Again

Wong Kar Wai is insanely busy: My Blueberry Nights is due out in May, his recut version of Ashes of Time in the Autumn, Lady From Shanghai is lined up for shooting later this year, when Kidman gets her act together. Add to this his freshly announced 'lesbian love at high school' drama, reportedly to shoot come April, and mix in his intensive, protracted shoots, reshoots and post production, and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings workload is starting to look like the quick scramble to knock off a Saw sequel.

The only hope for Wong's health and sanity is that, in fact, he isn't confirmed to direct the new film, he may just be producing, scripting or standing on the sidelines with a clacker and a flag.

My Blueberry Nights was filming as recently as last week. Expect this to be another Wong Kar Wai film to undergo mutliple variations between premiere, general release and DVD.

Secret Surprise Film Directed By Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, The Coen Brothers, Lars Von Trier And Wong Kar Wai... And More

There's a very exciting film project on the cards, but only the luckiest of us will get to see it - well, any time soon, at least. It looks like Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch. the Coen Brothers, Lars von Trier, Wong Kar Wai, Michael Cimino, Ken Loach, Wim Wenders, Chen Kaige, Abbas Kiarostami, Emir Kusturica and Nanni Moretti are amongst the directors behind the camera for this incredible king-of-all-films.

Sound too good to be true? Well, not quite actually.

This year, the Cannes film festival marks it's 60th anniversary and as a special celebration, an anthology of shorts by winners of the Palme d'Or is being compiled. The only director confirmed as absent so far is Pedro Almodovar, who appears to be too busy with his frightening sounding new film.

It isn't clear if this incredible seeming collaborative collage of shorts is ever going to see the lght of day outside of the festival, but I would sincerely hope so. Keeping something so desirable, and most likely very enjoyable, from the film fans of the world would strike me as arrogant and selfish.
