Believe It Or Not - Gong Li And Tim Burton

Xinhua online are reporting that Gong Li will take the female lead in Tim Burton's next film, Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Jim Carrey has been linked to the project for a long time, but for some reason, he never seemed to officially sign. I'm hoping he passes, personally.

Apparently, the script falls squarely between Big Fish and Indiana Jones - but not, I hope, in terms of quality.

And, no, that wasn't a dig at Big Fish.

Other reports claim that an as yet unnamed Korean actress may scoop the role from under Gong Li's nose, but even if that is the case, nobody knows if the script will be rewritten or we'll have a Korean actress playing a Chinese character.

Do the right thing, Mr. Burton.
