The Sensible World Versus Mick LaSalle

Mick LaSalle has written a particularly ill-informed and, frankly, offensive review for Monster House. He seems to have some very bizarre misconceptions about animation, and about motion capture.

At the moment, there's A LOT of fuss online about this review - and rightly so. It's rude and ignorant.

To get up to speed on the argument check out the open letter from Pixar's Jeff Pidegon to LaSalle, over on Jeff's blog.
I think that Mr. LaSalle needs another nice, clear, non-confrontational e-mail or two... or three... or five hundred... or whatever number the web can muster. Why? Because I'd love to see him print a retraction, publically address his mistakes and, with all the chatter that would generate, earn respect for all those he betrayed in his short-sighted, foolish reviews.

Mick LaSalle's e-mail address: mlasalle@sfchronicle.com

And remember - make your e-mail polite, well-argued and to the point, but do ask for him to retract his ignorant asserions.
