The Day After Tomorrow Came From Yesterday
A court case is now underway in China in which a playwright alleges 308 points of comparison from two of his works were stolen and used in The Day After Tomorrow. My favourite thing about this, of course, is that Independence Day was a complete steal too - of Mars Attacks, believe it or not, despite Attacks making it to cinemas much later, Jonathan Gems' screenplay existed long before the so-called ID4 one.
Looks like Roland Emmerich is starting to build up a bit of a case history. Unfair bad rap or bright red marks on grubby, thieving little hands? Let's see what the Chinese court decides.

Like the Chinese courts have ever taken copyright law seriously, right Starbucks? It'll be interesting to read their ruling when the plaintiff is a Chinese citzen.
