Greetings, Salutations, Goodbye

Here's a music video I directed a few years back for Piney Gir and her song Greetings, Salutations, Goodbye. Piney's had a couple of videos since, but... I didn't direct any of them. This one's good, though. The production was a little bit fraught - talent late, budget slashed (to almost nothing), producer flaking out, all the usual - but I pulled together what we got into something quite like my original vision. I hadn't seen it in a couple of years before uploading it, but it was good to see it again. I'm quite proud of this one. And the song is pretty darn catchy too.

And if you're looking for a music video director, drop me a line...

[EDIT: Googlevideo seems to be having some kind of conniptive spat. If the video below won't play, there's always YouTube to fall back on]

Tired Of Being Sexy

[EDIT: Sometime film ick contributor Sledge has being mucking around with Alcohol, and now, he wants you to joing him]

Cansei de Ser Sexy or
CSS, are a Brazilian electro-rock band from São Paulo and I like them a lot. For their new single, Alcohol, they have asked online members of QOOB to come up with a music video for them.

The band have been filmed in front of a green screen, which allows you wannabee Gondrys to replace the background with whatever you wish. You can download the green tinged clips here

My effort is uploaded now and I think it's the best of the bunch and guaranteed to win the 2000 Euro prize. Have a look and please leave comments.

If you wish to give it a go you better hurry. The closing date has been extended to the 20th April. Once you've made it you will need to join QOOB. I emailed them for some help regarding this - arent I nice?

Gary Koepke Makes Windows In The Skies For U2

The new U2 video is going to generate a lot of chatter, I think. Directed by Gary Koepke, the central idea is very close to something I dreamt up some time ago - but, to Gary's credit, there's some extra stuff in there too.

To his debit, as it were, this extra stuff isn't so hot.

I wish the first shot that gets the ball rolling, as it were, matched better - to sell an idea as odd and counter-instinctive as this one, you need to start with something very clear and acceptable - but the video does right itself before long and contains some lovely, lovely moments.

You can see this video, for Windows in the Skies, on The Mill's Beam TV. As their site is so flash-dependant, I'm afraid that I can't provide a direct link.
