Direct Download Link For The Prince Caspian Video Podcast Blog Thing

Narnia, eh? Only today was I walking past the Eagle and Child where Lewis and Tolkien used to quaff ale with their lesser known, similarly spoddish chum who must have had a name but you know how to use Wikipedia and if I did it for you it would only dilute my point.

When it comes to Oxford authors of the fantastic, I'm a Carroll man all the way, I'm afraid.

Silly Fish

One of the following news bites is definitely an April Fools gag that's hung around like a bad smell; the other certainly sounds like it to me too - but what do you think? Could it be genuine?

Firstly, an increasing number of sites are slowly picking up on a hoax story originated at The One Ring. They claimed that Peter Jackson was deep in preproduction on a live-action Powerpuff Girls movie. Why are a bunch of sites picking this up now, on Tuesday? Are they nuts?

A new animated Powerpuff movie would be good, though, if Craig McCracken were to be behind it.

The second story features a quote from Christina Ricci, concerning her new tattoo. Apologies to Ms. Ricci if this actually is something she said, but the whole thing does sound so screwy to me I can only assume it's another hoax that's making it's way across the web too slowly.

She describes the tattoo thus:

It's Aslan, the lion from The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. It's a symbol of my hellish childhood. I struggled through my oppressive teenage years and when I turned 18 I escaped. Like Aslan I was finally free.

Riiiiight. Stay tuned until next April 1st when she'll get Nelson Mandela on her ankle and the Israelites on her buttocks.

Disney Beans Aplenty Are Spilled

At Disney they have meetings, and in meetings they use Powerpoint, and from a Powerpoint slide show came all of the above. The artwork you can is all pre-production work for Prince of Persia, which suggests things have moved along somewhat on that one already. All can be clicked an enlarged, so grab your mouse and knock yourself out.

Where Is Narnia Now?

There's been much ado over the last day or so about shooting on the next Narnia film (yawn) being set for the UK, and not - as was previously expected - New Zealand. As it finally shakes out, some shooting will be taking place down under, just not to the extent previously assumed. Plaintiffs yelped about lost New Zealand jobs while of course neglecting to mention the English craftspeople who would instead benefit. Wherever camp Narnia lays its hat, there's going to be work for people - and shooting in two locations can only mean more jobs, if smaller jobs, over all, surely?

Of course, there's also a third shooting location to be considered - and as I can see, it hasn't been reported at all yet. Prague's Barrandov studios will also be playing host to the Prince Caspian crew. Again, what size slice of the pie they will be served, I do not know (likely less than the UK, more than New Zealand) - but if the Limeys vs. Kiwis story is such a hot topic, I thought I better at least throw this into the mix too.

Now fight it out amongst yourselves, nationalists.
