Windy, Chilly And Blunt

The trailer for Wind Chill has been unveiled at the film's official site.

Director Gregory Jacobs made Criminal (a remake of a 'foreign' film that was better than the original, in this case Nine Queens - if not quite as interesting to an inquisitive 'domestic' audience) and has been Soderbergh's 2nd Unit man or Assistant Director for many, many of his films.

Wind Chill features Emily Blunt (okay, sure) and Martin Donovan (hurrah!).

Here's the most interesting trivia I can offer you: the film's editor, Lee Percy, was the man responsible for cutting the
Kozure Okami films together into Shogun Assassin.

Zahn, Arkin, Blunt And Adams

Steve Zahn is to join the cast of Sunshine Cleaning, alongside Alan Arkin, Emily Blunt and Amy Adams. Amy Adams hasn't been on a cast this impressive since Psycho Beach Party.

Hey - does anybody have a copy of Psycho Beach Party? Can I have it?

Sunshine Cleaning sounds a bit like Curdled... and... er... well, does anybody have a copy of Curdled I can have too? I really do have to get into the habit of buying smaller DVD releases sooner, they've got a horrible habit of going out of print very quickly indeed.

Anchor Bay's DVD of Schlock has nothing at all to do with the rest of this story. Besides the obvious. Cheers.

Aaron Eckhart In The Frame For Harvey Dent, Two Face

The self same source that named Rachel McAdams as being involved in The Dark Knight last week has now let me know that Aaron Eckhart is being sized up as Harvey Dent, or Two Face. Indeed, they think he all but has the part and maybe he's just an eyelid flutter away from being officially announced.

I see Latino Review have Echart too - just - but, interestingly, my source's e-mail predates their post. I wonder if we're getting mail from the same tipster?

For the female role, Latino Review have decided to pull for Emily Blunt, a story that started at Cinema Blend. I'm sticking to my McAdams guns because my source seems to be a very good one.

Batman on Film are pushing for McAdams too, and indeed, they have pointed to me as a source for that story while also knocking me for preferrring Burton's films to Nolan's.

Paulson In The Envelope

The Envelope have a nice interview with Sarah Paulson of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. The first I knew Paulson was in the show was when she received her Golden Globe nomination - but as soon as I did know she was onboard, I at last allowed myself to look forward to this show just a little bit after being put off by the over-hype preceding it's launch (does anybody know when it kicks off in the UK?)

Of course, one talented actress alone can't stop a lacklustre show from giving me a draining case of the ho-hums - Ugly Betty being the most recent case in point - but until now, the reputedly self-import Studio 60 had completely failed to entice me. Tell me, those of you who have seen it, what's it like? Really now.

Regarding her nomination, Paulson admits "when I look at that category, I'll be clapping for someone else. And that's really, truly and utterly fine with me. I'm sure if I'd been nominated for 20 other awards in my life, then I'd be like, OK, it's time to pony up, it's time to win."

She's not wrong, you know: the other contenders are Toni Collette, Katherine Heigl, Emily Blunt and Elizabeth Perkins.
